Chistopol watch
maker "VOSTOK" (EAST) started back in 1942 when one of the Moscow
watch-making plants was evacuated from Moscow to little town located
on The Kama River. Defense equipment was the only company output
during war years, but as soon as the war was over they started making
mechanical wrist watches - main production item ever since. Yet, they
never backed away completely from military past - the company was
appointed an official supplier of watches for the Defense Department
of the Soviet Union in 1965. This year marks the creation of the world
famous "Komandirskie" ("Commander") watch.
Military watch grew very popular due to high precision and reliability. The appearance of the watch also
contributes to its appeal - functional and clear-cut design invoked
the feeling of belonging to the tough world of combat professionals. A vast
multitude of people both in Russia and abroad boasting "Vostok"
watches and various international prizes awarded for high quality and
commercial success testify to this.

Class 1. Mechanical wind. Forty hours of work from one full winding.
Guaranteed accuracy: -20/+40 seconds per 24 hours. 27 functional ruby
jewels. Water resistant to 20 meters and dust protected. Shock
resistant balanced assembly. "DATE" calendar. Solid bronze
body and stainless steel back cover hermetically sealed. Phosphorus
marks on face and needles to see in the dark. Red central seconds
needle. Adjustable bezel up to 60 minutes clearly marked in 10 minutes
increment. Features unique multi-functional winding head, which serves
as a sealed watertight cap and works as a winding wheel while
unscrewed, allowing to
adjust needles position and change the calendar. Winding head
positioned 45 degrees to the wrist for convenient access and control. Genuine leather strap
of brown or black color with side stitching. Body and bezel style may appear slightly different
from that is shown on the pictures, depending on manufacture run. To wind the watch unscrew the cap and use it fir winding. Pull out the head
to adjust the needles position. Move needles from 9 to 12 o'clock back
and forth to change the date calendar. Pull the cover in and screw in tightly.
