There are two basic ways to improve the recognition visibility at low light.
One is to raise the magnification as it offered in night vision binoculars. Thatis usually related with addition of bulky parts like lenses and eyepieces,reduce the screen resolution and field of vision, and may not be suitable forsome viewers who wants to preserve actual distances on the screen (magnifiedpicture will show the objects closer and orientation capability will be lost).
Another way to improve visibility range at low light is to provide betterillumination of the remote object. It could be achieved with rearrangement ofthe power emitted by IR Illuminator. Illumination could be greatly increased bycollecting the IR beam into the narrow spot.
Since all the energy of the IR Illuminator will be concentrated within the smallarea, the visibility inside the spot may raise 10's of times.
It is good to note here that the image within the bright spot will be muchsharper due to front illumination. Also due to the high illumination power IRbeam will not only assist the user in full dark, but will provide good help insome critical situations while using the device in the areas with insolatedbright sources which may completely block the visibility of not IRassisted Night Vision Device in shadowed areas.
