Night
Vision Scope NIGHTHAWK-3 developed for concealed area night observation on the
land, or water. Under most unfavorable light conditions device used in
conjunction with built-in Infra Red Illuminator. Aluminum cast body hermetically
sealed, safe for operation, and free of radiation of any kind. Powerful
objective provides extended visibility range. Scope found very useful for
numerous applications, which include but not limited to: outdoor sports -
boating - wildlife observation - astronomy - security - search and rescue.GENERAL. Night Vision Scope NIGHTHAWK-3 incorporates High Quality Gen 1+ Image Intensifier Tube (IIT) powered by the 19 kV delivered from High Voltage Power Supply Module (HVPS). Infra red sensitive front objective lens provides deep field of vision that eliminates the need for readjustment of the front lens and makes the device suitable for observation of the entire area in along with specified visibility range and across field of vision. Adjustable ocular system with protective inflated eye guard allows ocular compensation to the user’s eye vision within the wide limits.
OPERATION PRINCIPAL. Low light object reflections captured by powerful Infra Red sensitive Objective drop week image on the IIT (Image Tube), that cause electron emission from the Photo Cathode towards the IIT’s Anode in accelerating electrostatic field created by 19 kV supplied from HVPS module. Electron stream strikes the phosphorus screen on the tube's Anode creating the bright image picked up by the ocular and delivered to the viewer eye. Powered by 3 volts lithium battery HVPS module consists of AC electronic generator, high voltage transformer, and voltage multiplier circuit, and provides 19 kV output. High power Infra Red Illuminator provides source of additional illumination to the object and could be used in the conditions there the natural illumination is too low, or to enhance the clarity by adding front illumination to the object. 3-position power distribution switch enables easy control to the device operation in different modes.
MECHANICAL DESIGN. Mechanically NIGHTHAWK scope consists of optical barrel with tightly attached power unit. High voltage delivered from the power unit module to the IIT housing with the sealed armored wire. Power unit with built in 3-position switch consists of insolated compartments. Rear HVPS module compartment covered with the sealed cap and secured with the tiny screw. Rear cap should be removed by qualified personnel only, who is familiar with the design. Unauthorized attempt to remove the cap may cause damage to the threat and warranty void. Top slotted cover serves as a battery holder cap and may be opened with coin or slotted screw driver to install or replace 3 volts high capacity lithium photo battery which may be found in most general stores. Battery goes inside facing the pin down. IR illuminator installed on the front of the power unit. 3-position Power Switch allows following modes: 1. Device is OFF, 2. Device is ON/illuminator is OFF, 3. Device is ON/illuminator is ON.
TROUBLE FREE OPERATIONS NOTE. Device designed for operation in the dark and any bright distant sources in the field of vision may create glare and reduce visibility. For operation in the environment with the bright light sources it is recommended to avoid these sources in the field. That could be achieved by re-positioning of the device. In some cases, if device pointed to the very strong light the unit may shut off. Re-point it immediately out of bright source. Functionality will be restored immediately, or within a few seconds.
