Infra-Red Illuminator emits invisible to the naked eye Infra-Red rays in the spectrum range sensitive
to the night vision device. Directed to the object it creates same effect as a moonlight with the
difference that this illumination is frontal and as a result the image in the night vision device
will be free of shadows and much sharper than those user may see under moonlight or starlight
illumination (It is well-known effect in photography and most of the cameras with flash lights have
"Fill-in" mode to enhance the picture quality). At the situations with the light conditions
below minimum required illumination or in absolute darkness the Infra-Red illuminator becomes the only
source of illumination which makes the night vision device functional.
Also in presence of bright light sources within the field of view (such as post
lights) IR illumination allows to reduce glare rings from those sources and
improve visibility in such environment.
Illumination range for IR Illuminator greatly depends on the power of IR source
installed. This power provided by Infra Red LED diode installed and may vary
from few mW to 100 mW and higher. Some night vision devices comes with built-in
IR Illuminators which drain power from device battery. They usually built with
low power LEDs and provide wide angle local illumination within 10-20
yards.
For long range NV devices it became practical to enhance
vision by adding to the device High-Beam IR Illuminators equipped with 50
mW and higher power LEDs, own batteries, power switch, mount bracket, and
beam adjustable optical system. Front filters or shades to reduce glare may
compliment the design. Depending on the model Hi-Beam IR Illuminators may
enhance visibility of NV devices in unfavorable light conditions up to 100 to
300 yards and are very useful addition to NV devices of any generation.

resistant paint. Smooth zoom like adjustment of the beam divergence in the limits
2-20
degrees to illuminate entire field of vision as well as to concentrate the beam on a 3 yards spot at
200 yards effective range of illumination distance. Supplied with
70 mw LED power source. Battery cap on the rear side combined with power switch.
Includes rail shaped mount with tripod like bolt and receiver bracket.
Allows easy installation on
and dismantling from the receiver bracket with the touch of fingers. Receiver
bracket
should be permanently
mounted on the Night Vision Device.
Picture on the right shows the example of installation.
Item offered as an option purchased with the device, also for hand held use, or
for installation as "do-it-yourself" project. Receiver Bracket installation on the Night Vision Device will require some
mechanical skills and special tools and will depend on the design of the device. Receiver Bracket
is 2 in. long, 1/2 inch wide and has 2 screw access holes 3 mm. in dia. drilled at the 38 mm.
